Love from Darkroom

Tonight I went to see the Love from Darkroom valentines exhibition. Several 'createurs' from Carolyn Massey and Philip Treacy to Barnaby Roper and Bill Woodrow were commissioned to create an 'heart work' to be sold at the shop for a set fee of £150.

Proceeds of all sales are donated to Camila Batmanghelidjh's Kids Company charity. Benevolent chic anyone?!
Love from Darkroom runs until February 14th.

Pulp68 Keith Haring skate ramp

I love this Keith Haring skate ramp, and I love that it's in a secret location. To find out where, visit the brand's Facebook page.

Chateau Marmont a.k.a. Chateau Charmant

I'm in L.A. this week doing a swimwear shoot at the Chateau Marmont. This place has been something of a legendary hotspot since Hollywood's golden era, and continues to be a meeting point for the superstars.
Perhaps it's because it's somewhat ramshackled - in contrast to the 'perfection' of the rest of Hollywood, that it's continuously in favour with the great and good. Whatever it is, it's totally won me over.
I love the 1950s vibe of the bungalows and cottages, it feels like scene out of Mad Men.
Now I'm just waiting for my Don Draper to walk through the door!

Delicate yet Dominating

I don't know where this image is from, or even who it's by; but I just love the colour, form and texture of it. For me, it's really satisfying to look at.

Darkroom

Today I'm working in Darkroom, a beautiful fashion and interiors concept store on Lamb's Conduit Street, London.
The shop hosts bi-monthly art exhibitions and seasonal themes; the summer theme entitled 'Into Africa' shows an array of African inspired pieces, from Darkroom's own African textile cushions to antique terracotta necklaces from Mali, both shown below.

The brand listing is one to be revered; leather bags from Fleet Ilya, chunky jewellery from Macha, sunglasses by Alexander Wang - they've got it all!

If you haven't already been, I urge you to pop down and take a look. Or visit their new online store, where all products are available to buy.
