Vogue Paris’ October shoot by Terry Richardon and Carine Roitfeld certainly evokes a reaction.
Featuring Dior and Chaumet jewellery worn by the comparatively voluptuous model Crystal Renn, the shoot is loaded with Richardson’s overt sexualized style; but I don’t think it’s this that’s prompting the reaction. More the fact that they chose a ‘larger’ model and the story revolves around gluttony.
Whatever the debate, the images are undoubtedly stunning. I love all the contrasting textures – the knitwear, the clarity and smoothness of all the rocks, the slabs of meat – but most of all I just want to submerge my hands right into that mound of spaghetti! I think that picture might be one of my favourites...ever.
Miss Renn, you wear it well.
